Ways to Support the American Friends

 

When you support AFNGA all Australians and visitors benefit with donations supporting education programs, exhibitions and strengthening Australian public collections.

AFNGA is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, whose mission is to foster the visual arts in, and cultural exchanges between, the United States and Australia, creating closer ties between the two countries.

When you support AFNGA, all Australians benefit with donations supporting impactful education programs, original exhibitions of Australian and international art, as well as strengthening Australia’s national collection for all Australians and visitors to enjoy, for generations to come.

AFNGA is also proud to be supporting the next generation of Australian artists and arts professionals in their studies in America through the AusArt Fellowship.

Outright Gifts

Outright gifts enable the AFNGA to respond to needs and make a direct impact on Australian visual arts education, exhibition, acquisition programs, as well as support Australian art and artists in the United States.

Outright gifts can be made via check, credit card and wire transfers of cash or stock.

Gifts of Works of Art

 

Tangible personal property, such as paintings, sculpture, design objects, drawings, photography, prints, film, artifacts, archival material, media, textiles, architecture, performance art, and illustrated books, may be donated to AFNGA during your lifetime or by bequest.

Donors of tangible personal property held long-term and accepted by AFNGA are potentially entitled to claim an immediate income-tax charitable deduction.

Works of art is one form of tangible personal property. If you are considering donating a work of art to AFNGA, you should first contact us to talk about your proposed gift as AFNGA must give consideration to such gifts before we can accept them. AFNGA seeks property that reflects institutional quality standards in the areas of art and objects in which we seek to acquire.

Planned Giving

 

Gifts can be carefully planned to help you meet your philanthropic and financial goals. The different types of planned gifts include bequests, gifts of tangible personal property, charitable trusts (remainder and lead), gifts of life insurance policies, and gifts of retirement plan assets.

AFNGA would be pleased to work with you and your advisors to structure a gift that best fulfills your charitable goals, however before making a gift to AFNGA, you should consult with your financial, tax, and legal advisors for a thorough analysis of your individual situation and the tax consequences and to decide which of these ways of giving might work best for you.
